Chic Chat

Who's The Hottie?

1. Hugh Grand or Hugh Jackman?: Hugh Jackman - I like his ruggedness as compared to the other's 'pretty bad boy' persona
2. Colin Farrel or Colin Firth?: Colin Firth - Farrel is a little too rugged
3. Matt Lauer or Charlie Gibson?: Who or who?
4. Hottest Baldwin Brother?: None of them - not really into any of the Baldwins.
5. Tom Cruise or Tom Hanks?: Cruise - especially when his hair is a little longer.

Rowan is here - for over 2 weeks already

I probably should have updated this earlier - but since I really do this for me, it isn't that big of a deal :-D

Rowan was finally born on Nov 6th at 11:29am - weighing in at 8lb 9.5oz and 20.5in. At her week 1 appointment she had gained 2.5oz, but not grown any. The doctor promises that she won't shrink :-).

While she is actually a wonderful baby (sleeps for 3-6 hours at a time usually) I have found out some interesting things about myself.

  1. I am certainly not a homebody! The doctor told me that I had to not drive for two weeks after the operation - doesn't seem like a long time. But be trapped in less than 1000 square feet with a baby that you haven't figured out how to understand yet - and it is a really long time! Needless to say, I broke that rule - it was either that or have Jeremy commit me! (oh, did I mentione I was hormonal as hell - I don't think I went through a single day that first week with out crying about something)
  2. If I don't get enough sleep, I lack crucial skills - like patience! Rowan is the cutest most precious baby in the world - but on 4 hours of sleep in 18 hours - she isn't as cute anymore. The funny thing is, I know there are new parents that would kill for 4 hours sleep, but I guess I am just one of those people that needs my 8 hours - this should be interesting when I get back to work.
  3. I am a wimp when it comes to pain - I will readily admit this. However, it seems that a person will put up with a lot to do what they have to do. Jeremy just has to put up with my wimpering, lol. (he is good about it)

I guess that is it - I am sure there is more, but I can not seem to remember anything else right now.

Needless to say it has been an interesting couple of weeks - and I am sure it will only get more interesting.

Not so big - and getting close

Not really any change as far as my cervix goes - but I did get another u/s toay, and the tech and the doctor are estimating her at around 7.5 lbs - that is much better than I had originally thought!

I had a wee bit of a scare last night - I must have caught some sort of stomach bug - because I started having some severe abdominal cramping in the wee hours of the morning - and to make a long story short I ended up in Labor and Delivery to be monitored. The baby was fine (sometimes throwing up and abdominal cramping can affect the baby) and they sent me home with a perscription (for the vomiting) a couple of hours later. I do feel much better today.

I was having contractions while I was there - and I had no clue, so I guess they weren't 'serious' contractions - as everyone tells me that when I have the contractions that mean business I will know.

I start on my Non-Stress-Tests next week - that is only because I have gestational diabetes, and they want to make sure the baby is ok as I get closer to term. (only two weeks until my due date tomorrow) - I am also getting another ultrasound next week. Guess things are getting close! :-)

Monday Madness

1. Code your own website or use a template? Both - On the blogs I use templates, but do some of the editing in code. - My websites though are not premade templates.
2. Use a digital camera or a film camera? If digital, do you print your own pictures, order them online, or send them out? Digital - and I take them to a photo lab to print them if I want a frameable photo - otherwise I print them on my printer.
3. Make your own cards or buy them at a card shop? Both - depends on what kind of card I want to send. For the most part I buy them though.
4. Draw your own graphics or get them from the internet? Both, I don't use clip art, but I did make full use of the graphics the Sims 2 site allowed thier fan sites to use - but I sometimes edit them to my own specifications.
5. Take showers or baths? Both - this seems to be a trend, lol - I usually take showers though.
6. Make your own candles or buy them? And are they soy or paraffin? I don't even cook dinner, much less make candles, lol!
7. Celebrate Halloween or not? Celebrate! Though I didn't this year - but then I am very pregnant - next year I will make up for it.
8. Sleep in on weekends or get up early even if you don't have to go to work? I actually get up earlier on the weekends, b/c that is my 'family' time - and I work night during the week.
9. Correct other people's grammar, or just let it go? Depends on how bad the mistake was - if someone says 'skreet' instead of 'street' I try not to correct them b/c it is part of thier culture - but if it is a completely wrong word (can't think of an example) then I feel the need to correct.
