Sunday Brunch

1) What candy are you passing out on Halloween night if you are staying home? We didn't buy any candy because I have gestational diabetes, and did not want to be tempted - also I am not home tonight, but Jeremy is.
2) What was your best Halloween costume? Several years ago I did this whole undead thing for a haunted house - almost completely home made - but ended up being my best costume.
3) Are you doing anything on the night of Halloween if you are not staying home to pass out treats, and if so, what are you doing? I am working :-(
4) What is your favorite Halloween décor? (ie, witch, ghost, pumpkins) Witches, ghosts and Skeletons
5) Do you carve jack o’lanterns? Icky - no! :-) I will buy the plastic ones that look like they are carved.

Getting closer and closer

Well - I am now officially full term (as of 10/29) - so Rowan could come any day now.

At my check up last week my doctor told me that I am 1cm dialated and 50% effaced - which pretty much means that my body is preparing to go into labor - but it could still be weeks yet.

I am getting another ultrasound this week to measure her. If she is measuring big, then they may schedule an induction or c-section - but I will wait and see.

It is odd - I looked at a picture of my sister a few days before she had her twins, and I swear my belly looks just as big!! And her twins together were about 11 lbs!!! Now granted, she is several inches taller than me - so perhaps I shouldn't be to freaked out! :-D

Monday Madness

1. I have reformatted my hard drive about 0 times. (and if I have to reformat it tomorrow, then I am going to blame it on this meme ... lol)
2. I usually reformat my hard drive about <1>times a year. I really should get on that.
3. When I'm working in a document, I save about every 0 minutes. Usually I don't save it until I am done - but then I don't work on very many extensive documents.
4. I've upgraded my computer by adding Nada! I haven't done anything to this computer - yet!
5. I've got about 20 CD's/floppies with info on them and about 1/3 of them aren't labeled.
6. Since I've been using my computer, I find the easiest way to organize my files is to make folders that have subject headings - of course that does not always work(Looking for suggestions!!)
7. I have 3 email accounts.
8. Whenever I have a computer-related question, I usually call tech support.
9. I usually use a search engine when looking for research purposes - like researching a car or something like that.
10. My computer is about 2 years old. And it looks like I will be getting another in about a year.

Another Doctor's Appt.

Seems I find out more information from the midwives in the practice than from the doctors. But then, I didn't have questions about the baby being big and such when I saw the doctor last. I will see her again starting next week until I deliver.

I found out that if I have not had my baby yet, they are going to induce me in my 39th week - so I more than likely will not be making it all the way to my due date. (since I wouldn't think they would want to induce on a Friday - lol) Of course I still might go into labor early.

Then of course there is the issue of her size, which they are continuing to monitor. I will probably have another u/s the week after next to check her size again. The midwife did reassure me about a vaginal birth and a larger baby (not over 10 lbs - but something in the range of 8.5-9.5 lbs - if the baby is around 10 lbs, I really think I will be opting for the c-section). Anyay - I am not quite so freaked about her size anymore :-) Not that I would mind a big healthy baby - I am just not sure I am equipped to push out a big healthy baby! LOL

Big Girl!

I went last Monday (over a week ago) for another ultrasound (ordered by the midwife b/c I am still measuring 4 weeks ahead in my fundal height) Anyway - I found out that she is (or was) about 5 and a 1/2 lbs! Talk about freaking me out!!! I mean I was only 33 weeks and 3 days pregnant - and she is already 5 and a 1/2 lbs??? Some full term babies are born at that size!

So of course when I had my appointment with the midwife (it has been hard to get all of my appointments with the doctor lately, since I am going every week) I asked her when they would consider a c-section -- I am sorry, but pushing a 9 lb baby out down there is not something that I find appealing! Especially since this is my first. Anyway - she said they start to look into it when the baby gets aroud 9 and 1/2 lbs - plus there are other things to consider - like the size of my pelvis vs. the size of her shoulders, etc. She also told me that they will not let me go over my due date b/c of the GD - which is a relief, it is getting hard to carry around 6 lbs of baby now, I can't imaging what it would be like trying to carry around 9 lbs or MORE! And I have also heard that if the baby is going to be big if she goes to full term, then they may induce once I hit 37 weeks so they don't have to do a c-section - which would be fine with me. I don't mind pushing a baby out - it just freaks me out if she is that big! I mean my sister had 3rd degree lacerations with her oldest, and she was only 8 lbs 2 oz. So - I could have just a couple more weeks to go - or I could have 5, but this big girl is going to be here soon!

Also - sorry about that mess in the upper part of this section - I can't figure out why that happened, and haven't had the time to look real closely at the code to fix it.
